GOOD QUESTIONS, STRAIGHT ANSWERS

A little clarity for your inbox.

What to know before putting your Gmail cleanup on a schedule.

What is MailRoutine?

MailRoutine automates recurring Gmail inbox maintenance. Configure a Gmail search, an action and a schedule once, then let the routine run automatically.

Does MailRoutine replace Gmail?

No. MailRoutine is not an email client. You continue reading and sending messages in the official Gmail website or mobile app. MailRoutine runs separately using Google’s official Gmail API.

How does automatic cleanup work?

A routine finds messages matching your Gmail search, then applies the action you chose. You control the search, schedule and maximum messages processed per run.

Can I preview messages before a routine runs?

Yes. Use the preview to inspect what a routine would match before enabling it. Review the search and action carefully before allowing changes.

Can I undo an action?

MailRoutine does not currently offer a universal one-click undo. Some Gmail actions can be manually reversed in Gmail, depending on the action and message state.

Does MailRoutine permanently delete email?

MailRoutine supports moving messages to Trash, not immediate permanent deletion. Gmail’s own Trash retention policies still apply. Archive keeps the message in Gmail but removes it from your inbox.

How frequently do scheduled routines run?

The Cloud scheduler checks for due routines approximately once per hour. Routines execute in the background; minute-level precision or instantaneous scheduled execution is not guaranteed.

Is MailRoutine Cloud free?

MailRoutine Cloud is free during beta. Pricing after beta has not yet been announced.

Will it remain free after beta?

Permanent free Cloud access is not promised. Pricing after beta has not yet been announced. The separate self-hosted software is free and open source.

What is the difference between Cloud and Self-Hosted?

Cloud is hosted and managed: no installation, infrastructure maintenance or personal Google OAuth setup is needed. Self-Hosted is free Apache 2.0 software that you run with Docker, your own infrastructure and Google OAuth credentials.

Can I disconnect Gmail?

Yes. You can disable routines and disconnect Gmail in MailRoutine. You can also revoke the application’s access from your Google account permissions. Disconnecting is separate from deleting stored account data.

Does MailRoutine support multiple accounts?

Production availability and account limits have not been confirmed for this website. Check the current Cloud application or contact the operator before relying on multiple-account support.

Is MailRoutine affiliated with Google?

MailRoutine is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

Does MailRoutine store my emails?

No. Email content and message IDs are processed only at runtime and are not stored by MailRoutine. Account and routine information is separate; the Cloud database is stored in the United States. See the Privacy Policy for data handling and your rights.
